Book Review: Switched On
“Switched On” by John Elder Robison is my new favorite book. It gave me some insight into autism and Aspergers, of course, because the author is both. But also into the benefits of the aging brain and the family I came from.
He writes candidly about his experience with TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) therapy. One of my favorite quotes is: “You don’t necessarily know what to do in social situations by instinct, but you can teach yourself by reasoning and practice and it’s worked.”
